Bleed Purple - A Greek Community Foundation

The UNITE campaign is a comprehensive fundraising effort by the Bleed Purple Foundation. Our goal is to raise $10 million by the end of the year 2010 to support college students across the country affected by cancer. The result will be a continuing realization of our mission: Uniting Greeks in the Fight Against Cancer.

Because Bleed Purple has zero administrative costs, it is one of very few organizations that devotes all of its funds directly to support students. This fact and our tax-exempt status are key coponents that will help YOU make our campaign a great success!

Tuition Bill Relief Grants: Goal ~ $2,500,000
As a college student, making ends meet can often be a challenge. Between class, campus club meetings, unpaid internships and late-night study groups, finding time for a job that pays rent, let alone medical bills, is nearly impossible. That is why Bleed Purple offers Medical Bill Grants to college students who have been diagnosed with cancer. It is our duty to ensure this program exisits for years to come so we can help our brothers and sisters in need.

Daniel Burkett III Memorial Scholarship: Goal ~ $1,000,000
The Daniel Burkett III Memorial Scholarship was established in 2006 in honor our brother who was lost in a tragic boating accident. Each year Bleed Purple will award five scholarships in Danny's name to members of Greek Organizations who exhibit academic excellence, high social standards, and selfless service in their communities.

Medical Bill Relief Grants: Goal ~ $2,500,000
For a college student diagnosed with cancer, a Medical Bill Grant from the Bleed Purple Foundation can be one of the greatest benefits to both the patient and their family during and after treatment. Medical Bill Grants provide relief from the financial hardships that often accompany this disease with the purpose of making sure the student is focused on his or her studies and not the fear of an economic crisis. By meeting this goal, Bleed Purple will be able to make sure even the most extreme cases can get a substantial benefit from the Foundation.

Bleed Purple Cancer Research & Support Center: Goal ~ $4,000,000
In early 2007, Bleed Purple began planning for the development of the first Bleed Purple Cancer Research & Support Center. Although this endeavor is still several years from being a reality, the end result will be a state of the art cancer research and support center where children and young adults will be able to receive top care for cancer without feeling like they are stuck in a hospital while receiving treatment. The goal of the center is to make each Bleed Purple Patient feel as comfortable as possible while away from their home. Rooms will be equipped much like a comfortable hotel room with flat screen televisions, wireless internet, excersize equipment, desks, video games and anything else you could immagine a college student would want when dealing with a life-threatening illness.

If you do not specify which program you would like to support, your donation will be used for the program that needs it the most.
